Vegan Hallacas

£ 7.50

The traditional Venezuelan Christmas meal. Normally, a cornmeal parcel stuffed with a combination of chicken, pork and beef with our special seasoning but due to overwhelming demand we have now created ‘Vegan’ hallacas. We use exactly the same recipe we use for our traditional hallacas but replace all animal-based ingredients for vegan-friendly ingredients. We replace the meat filling with sweet potatoes and a combination of roasted vegetables.

Q: What is the deadline for deliveries to arrive by Christmas day?
A: For home delivery, you can place your orders up to the 23rd December at 1 pm and your order can arrive on Tuesday 24th December. However, given the high number of deliveries managed by the courier service on the day before Christmas, we cannot give you a 100% guarantee that your order will be delivered on time, but it should!  BUT, if you want to be 100% sure, then please place your order before Friday 20th December. For Pick Up: You can order and pick up any day except for 25th and 26th December and 1st and 2nd January.

Q: What’s our recipe?
A: We use exactly the same recipe we use for our traditional hallacas but replace all animal-based ingredients for vegan-friendly ingredients. We replace the meat filling with sweet potatoes and a combination of roasted vegetables.

Q: How is the product delivered?
A: Hallacas are delivered frozen. For orders out of London, we provide special packaging that guarantees below zero temperatures from our restaurant to your home. In addition, you will also receive a tracking number when the order is dispatched from our store.

Q: What do I do when I receive them?
A: Keep them frozen until the big day.

Q: How do I cook them?
A: Take the hallacas from the freezer and submerge them into boiling water. Boil them for about 35 minutes. Take them out and leave them to rest for 2 minutes. Buen provecho!

Q: How long will Hallacas last?
A: Frozen, up to 3 months.
